Math
Two apples and a question
Meet Nora and the smallest math problem in the world.
Nora had one apple. Her brother gave her one more. Now she holds two apples — one red, one green.
“How many apples do I have?” Nora asks.
Before she counts, she looks at her hands. Two hands, two apples. She smiles. “Two.”
That is math: noticing, counting, and saying what is true.
